We have a talented group of journalists here at CanCulture that have contributed to media outlets such as the CBC, The Canadian Press, Global National, The Globe and Mail, The Ottawa Citizen, The National Post, The Winnipeg Free Press, The Walrus, Macleans, OpenFile and more. And we are always looking for writers like yourself to help contribute to the magazine.
Our contributors get to write for a variety of sections such as art, books, fashion, film, food, music and theatre, in addition to taking photos and shooting video. We are looking for contributors who are good at what they do, are committed, enthusiastic, and are able to bring their own special twist to CanCulture.
Still not convinced? Here’s a testimonial from former summer intern Jill Krajewski:
During my first month at CanCulture alone, I got to interview an Order of Canada-honoured photographer, a Golden Globe-nominated producer and had one of my movie reviews posted online by HBO. It was definitely a worthwhile experience and I’m confident my shaped-up organizational, managerial and communication skills will come in handy no matter where I go.
We look for applicants all year round, specifically in Toronto and Ottawa. If you don’t live in Toronto or Ottawa and still want to contribute, we would love to have you onboard. If you are interested, you should apply as soon as possible. We review all applications and will reply promptly to everyone who sends one in. You can also check our list of current opportunities.
We’d love to see some samples of what you do, whether it’s your published writing samples, blog, photos or online portfolio. To apply, send your resume, cover letter, what sections you’d like to contribute to and a little bit about yourself to CanCulture‘s managing editors, Andrew Nguyen and Arik Ligeti at firstname.lastname@example.org
